The historic cultural festival FontanonEstate is back for its sixteenth edition, situated in one of the most picturesque locations of Rome: the Acqua Paola fountain gardens on the Gianicolo hill. The event will, once again, confirm the enjoyment had by critics and audiences over the years thanks to the diversity and quality of its contents and presentations. Almost every evening from 21st June to 11th September, there will be a festival of theatre, music, dance and film, performed by almost fifty companies, many of them youth companies.
A press conference will take place at 6.30pm on 20th June and the event will officially open on 21st June at the prestigious and picturesque location in the Acqua Paola fountain gardens on the Gianicolo hill.
This year will see the debut of the FontenoneClassica music festival. The initiative, with artistic direction by Andrea Calvani, was created with the intention of uniting music and social commitment.
Two concerts have been planned for this project: the first will be a flute and piano performance by the duo G. Nova – G. Costa on the evening of
17th July, in support of Doctors Without Borders, and the second will be a piano recital by Andrea Calvani on
July 24th in support of Emergency.
